SUPPORT OUR "EQUIPPED TO LEARN" CAMPAIGN

The Equipped to Learn Campaign is centered on the belief that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a better future for children.

An education is important in shaping the future of a nation. It is a powerful tool that can break the cycle of poverty and pave the way for a brighter future. However, for many children in marginalized communities, particularly in Muslim majority areas in Mindanao, this dream of education remains a distant possibility. Due to various challenges including poverty, conflict, and displacement, many orphan children and street children in these communities are not able to go to school and receive proper education. Realizing the urgency of this issue, a group of concerned individuals has launched the Equipped to Learn Campaign, with the objective of supporting 100 orphan and street children in 100 schools as pilot beneficiaries. The campaign aims to bridge the gap between the community and school, minimize the number of out-of-school youth, and provide school supplies and awareness in the community.

This is a call for support for a noble cause that can make a significant impact in the lives of these children. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty and empower these children to reach their full potential through education. The lack of education not only deprives them of the necessary knowledge and skills but also limits their opportunities for a better future. By providing them with basic education, we hope to equip them with the tools to break free from the shackles of poverty and contribute positively to society.

One of the main challenges faced by orphan and street children in Muslim majority communities is the lack of support. Most of these children come from poor families and are unable to afford the basic school supplies required for their education. As a result, they end up missing out on the opportunity to receive an education, which could have changed their lives for the better. The Equipped to Learn Campaign seeks to break this barrier by providing these children with the necessary school supplies and creating awareness in the community about the importance of education. This can motivate and inspire these children to pursue their education, despite their difficult circumstances.

Furthermore, the campaign aims to minimize the number of out-of-school youth in the region of Mindanao. It is an unfortunate reality that many children in these communities are forced to drop out of school due to various reasons, such as poverty, early marriage, and child labor. By providing these children with the necessary support and resources, the campaign not only opens the door of education for them but also helps in keeping them away from harmful activities and risky situations. Education can be a powerful tool in protecting these vulnerable children and empowering them to become agents of change in their communities.

Our focus this year is on targeting 100 individual areas in the Muslim-majority communities of Mindanao where we aim to provide basic education and necessary resources to street children and out-of-school youth. We have identified these areas based on their level of poverty and lack of access to education. Our team will work closely with local organizations and community leaders to ensure the successful implementation of our campaign.

In addition, the Equipped to Learn Campaign also envisions bridging the gap between the community and school. There is often a lack of understanding and communication between these two entities, which hinders the full potential of education. Through the campaign, community members will be encouraged to participate and support these children in their education journey. This can create a positive impact not only on the lives of the children but also on the community as a whole. It can foster a sense of responsibility and ownership in the community for the education of its children and strengthen the relationship between the community and the school. By giving these children the opportunity to learn, we hope to create a more inclusive and harmonious society.

At the core of our advocacy is the belief that every child deserves a chance to learn and reach their full potential. We understand that eradicating illiteracy and providing education to all is a massive undertaking, which is why we are calling for support from individuals, organizations, and the wider community. We invite everyone to join us and be a part of this noble cause. There are various ways in which one can extend their help, be it through monetary donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness about our campaign. We believe that even the smallest contribution can make a significant impact and bring about a positive change in the lives of these children.

Our goal is to raise USD 7,000.00 to fund our campaign, and we humbly ask for your support in achieving this target. As we extend our support to the Equipped to Learn Campaign, we are also paving the way for a brighter future for orphan and street children in Muslim-majority communities. With education, these children can break free from the cycle of poverty and become productive members of society. But the campaign does not stop there. It also has the potential to act as a bridge to other initiatives for the sustainable livelihood of fisherfolk and farmers in these communities.

With an educated community, it becomes easier to introduce and implement programs and projects that can contribute to the economic growth and development of these marginalized areas. We are calling for donors and sponsors for 100 individuals and 10 municipalities in each of the 3 island provinces in Mindanao. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and empower them to break the cycle of poverty. We believe that by investing in their education, we are investing in the future of these communities.

The Equipped to Learn Campaign is a call for support for the orphan and street children in Muslim-majority communities in Mindanao. It aims to bridge the gap between the community and school, minimize the number of out-of-school youth, and provide school supplies and awareness in the community. With this campaign, we are not only providing these children with the gift of education but also opening doors of opportunities for them and their communities. We must join hands and extend our support to this noble cause, for every child deserves the chance to learn, grow and build a better future. We invite everyone to join us in this noble cause and become a part of creating a better future for these children.

 Thank you for your support.

ON A JOURNEY WITH IMAM AL-ALGHAZALI: "The greatest lessons that I have learned is the importance of self-respect"

As a Muslim on a journey,  as taught by the renowned scholar and philosopher, Imam Al-Ghazali. T he greatest lesson is the importance of self-respect. Algazelus In today's fast-paced and competitive world, it is quite common for people to compromise their self-respect in order to fit in or please others. We often hold on to relationships and situations that are toxic, simply because we fear being alone or rejected by society. However, as Muslims, we are taught to have complete trust and reliance in Allah, and this includes having self-respect. Imam Al-Ghazali, also known as Hujjat al-Islam, was a renowned Islamic theologian and philosopher who emphasized the importance of self-respect in one's journey towards self-discovery and enlightenment. He believed that true self-respect comes from recognizing one's own worth and value, not from seeking validation from others. This is beautifully stated in his famous quote, 'Let go of your attachment to the world, for the love of ...

This opportunity offered by Watsons is incredible. I am more passionate and have the courage to do more.

"Finally, after all these years of experience working in the field of humanitarianism and peacebuilding, and creating a space for duty bearers to participate in crafting community-based approaches to strengthening peace, security and promoting social cohesion, these are some of the fruits to harvest. This opportunity offered by Watsons is incredible. I am more passionate and have the courage to do more." I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected for the 2024 Western Union Foundation Fellowship, thanks to the efforts of the Watson Institute ! The application process was a mix of excitement and struggle. I had doubts about being accepted and shortlisted. Even during the final interview, although I felt some relief, I still had lingering doubts about my chances, especially considering I was competing with applicants from all over the world. Just give a brief background: Out of 2900 applications from around the world, only 30 people were selected for this cohort, r...

Reflect on 30 Aspects of Life We Can Improve During this Sacred Month of Ramadan

Algazelus's Letter To Self 10.March.2024 Ramadan Day 0 "Reflect on 30 Aspects of Life We Can Improve During this Sacred Month of Ramadan" Assalamu alaykum Dear self, As we enter the holy month of Ramadan, I want to take some time to reflect on 30 aspects of life that we can improve during this blessed time. This month is not just about abstaining from food and water, but it is also a time for spiritual growth, self-reflection, and self-improvement. I believe that by focusing on these aspects, we can make the most of this month and come out as better individuals. 1. Strengthening our faith: Ramadan is a time to reconnect with our faith and strengthen our relationship with Allah. Let us take this opportunity to increase our knowledge of Islam, read the Quran, and engage in acts of worship such as prayer, dua, and charity. 2.  Forgive and seek forgiveness: It is said that Ramadan is the month of forgiveness. Let us forgive those who have wronged us and seek forgiveness from ...
