Algazelus's Letter To Self 12.March.2024 Ramadan Day 1 Assalamu alaykum Dear self, As the crescent moon appears in the sky, it marks the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. A month that holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims all around the world. It is a time of spiritual rejuvenation, self-reflection, and self-improvement. As we embark on this month-long journey, I want to take some time to reflect on 30 aspects of life that we can improve during this blessed time. Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and water; it is much more than that. It is a month of transformation, a month to better ourselves and become closer to Allah. It is an opportunity to reach out to our inner selves and reflect on our purpose in life. So, dear self, let us make the most of this month and focus on these aspects to emerge as better individuals. Reflect on 30 Aspects of Life We Can Improve During this Sacred Month of Ramadan

Algazelus's Letter To Self 10.March.2024 Ramadan Day 0 "Reflect on 30 Aspects of Life We Can Improve During this Sacred Month of Ramadan" Assalamu alaykum Dear self, As we enter the holy month of Ramadan, I want to take some time to reflect on 30 aspects of life that we can improve during this blessed time. This month is not just about abstaining from food and water, but it is also a time for spiritual growth, self-reflection, and self-improvement. I believe that by focusing on these aspects, we can make the most of this month and come out as better individuals. 1. Strengthening our faith: Ramadan is a time to reconnect with our faith and strengthen our relationship with Allah. Let us take this opportunity to increase our knowledge of Islam, read the Quran, and engage in acts of worship such as prayer, dua, and charity. 2.  Forgive and seek forgiveness: It is said that Ramadan is the month of forgiveness. Let us forgive those who have wronged us and seek forgiveness from ...

Life lesson: “A friend in need is a friend indeed”

Life lesson: “A friend in need is a friend indeed” Algazelus | 09.09.23 Assalammualaykum.  Life is a journey filled with pain, sadness, happiness, and a variety of other emotions. Many of us come upon life lessons that we learn and carry with us for the remainder of our lives. When we’re faced with difficult choices, we are often reminded of the valuable lessons we have learned. One of the most important life lessons is to treasure your friendship and make the best out of it. Friendship is an important part of Islamic beliefs and culture. As the Qur’an teaches, “you are the best of people ever raised up for mankind” (Qur’an 3:110), and such a sentiment carries into the relationships we develop with each other. In Islam, friendship is not only encouraged and celebrated but also seen as part of one’s faith journey. By being friends with others, we learn how to love, forgive, compassionately listen, and receive support. Friends have a sacred role in Islam and they’re even praised in t...

Indeed, Kindness is Free

LIFE LESSON: 'INDEED, KINDNESS IS FREE' Despite the lack of outcome, I find comfort in knowing that I am not alone in this journey. The words of encouragement and support I have received remind me that I am not alone in this journey.  In the world today, kindness is sometimes hard to come by. People are often too busy and consumed in their own lives to think about the welfare of others. As a result, it often falls on the shoulders of those whom we trust the most and who have the ability to help another in their time of need. It is with this understanding that we acknowledge the immense feeling of gratitude to such a person who was able to show great kindness and help us at a time when we did not expect it at all. When I was young, I never expected to have to swallow my pride and beg for work in order to survive. Having responsibilities and obligations as the breadwinner can make life especially difficult. I found myself in a situation where I had to convince myself that things ...

The benefits of reciting 'Astaghfirullah wa Atubu Ilaih'

Algazelus 06.24.23  Bissmillah hirahman nirrahim! 'Astaghfirullah wa Atubu Ilaih' the close translation of  the dua is: “I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent towards Him”. The du’a Astaghfirullah wa Atubu Ilaih holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims all over the world. This brief supplication is a way of expressing one's regret for errors and sins, and for turning to God in repentance. It is believed by many Muslims that the enormous spiritual benefits associated with reciting this du’a cannot be measured. The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to recite several times daily the du’a Astaghfirullah wa Atubu Ilaih. He declared that “Whoever says, ‘La ilaha illallah wa astaghfirullah wa atubu ilaih’ (there is no God but Allah and I ask for His forgiveness and I repent unto Him), then his Lord will accept his repentance and purify him” (As-San’ani). The wording of this du’a is simple and brief, yet it is extremely powerful when recited with comple...

A Conversation with Brother Ardan on “Being an Effective Father”

Algazelus 06.21.23 “Being an Effective Father” is a subject that holds a lot of weight and importance in today’s society. Good fatherhood is a key contributor to happy and healthy children. As a brother, I recently had a fruitful conversation with my respected brother, on this topic and I am here today to share with you the unique insights we both gathered on the subject.  To start off, he stressed the importance of fathers being approachable and patient with children. Often children feel the need to be distant from their fathers due to fear, but it is important that fathers give their children the space to express themselves and build a strong connection with them. He explained that engaging in conversations about topics of interest to both of you is an effective way to help build a relationship, create understanding and gain trust. We then spoke about the value of consistency and fairness when dealing with child-rearing decisions. It’s essential to maintain consistent instruction...

It is truly incredible to witness the growth of the ummah and the amazing impact it has had on the lives of so many individuals, predominantly Muslims. Through this journey, individuals are pushed to challenge their beliefs and develop a better understanding of life and its true purpose. Youth radicalization in Mindanao is a right to self-determination

Muslims are not the same everywhere. Southeast Asia, a host of larger Muslim populations, may be vulnerable to influences such as those adopting violence in the Middle East and Africa. We are radicalized, associating legitimate self-defense with that of something historical injustice, meaning by words of intimate energy, we become rebels associated with radical Islam to justify our cause would be reckless, a misjudgment. Why the war in Mindanao is unending? There are so many reasons behind this, from the perspectives and points of view of minority groups and from the government side. First, the government started the Moro war in 1968, and second, the government continues to cover up crimes of impunity they are so guilty about. Therefore, as long as government denies responsibility in the warring itself, there can’t be any possibility of viably crafting solution measures for the people of Mindanao. This article focuses on informing people about the activity such as radicalization, where...

GREATNESS OF AYAT AL-KURSI: Anatomy of each verse

Anatomy of Ayat Al-Kursi: Its Greatness and Miracle 1. Allah's statement, اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ (Allah! None has the right to be worshipped but He) mentions that Allah is the One and Only Lord of all creation. 2. Allah's statement الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ (Al-Hayyul-Qayyum) testifies that Allah is the Ever Living, Who never dies, Who sustains everyone and everything. All creation stands in need of Allah and totally relies on Him, while He is the Most Rich, Who stands in need of nothing created. Similarly, Allah said, وَمِنْ ءَايَـتِهِ أَن تَقُومَ السَّمَآءُ وَالاٌّرْضُ بِأَمْرِهِ (And among His signs is that the heaven and the earth stand by His command) 30:25.  3. Allah's statement, لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ (Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him) means, no shortcoming, unawareness, or ignorance ever touches Allah. Rather, He is aware of and controls what every soul earns, has perfect watch over everything, nothing escapes His knowledge, and no secret matt...
