A Response to the recent acts of burning the Qur’an across parts of the world, most recently in Sweden
Over the many centuries since the dawn of Islam, the noble Qur’an, the sacred book and final revelation from Allah, has been held in the highest regard for Muslims the world over. Its significance, importance, and reverence can hardly be understated, the Qur’an is a source of guidance, strength, and hope, and one of the primary pillars of Islam.
Therefore, the recent acts of burning the Qur’an across parts of the world, most recently in Sweden, are an affront to myself, my faith, and all believers of Islam. In my opinion, it is a curse on the entire world as it disregards and disrespects the divine revelation sent by Allah.
To be clear, it is not only those who have taken part in such horrible blasphemy who are responsible for this sin. It is also the fault of those who stood by and watched the desecration without standing up or lifting a finger to protect the Qur’an. This lack of awareness is a frustration and a tragedy, as the Qur’an is more than just a symbol of Islam, it represents its essential foundation, and it must be protected at all costs.

We must pay attention to the internal dynamics of this evil action and take immediate steps to address it. It should be noted that such acts of desecration should not be seen as isolated cases, as they are part of an ongoing pattern of acts of hatred and intolerance towards Islam.
The desecration of the Qur’an has been used as a tool to persecute Muslims and challenge our faith. It is a perverted distortion of the verses, words, and Hadith of the Qur’an and an act of psychological warfare against us. We should not forget that actions such as these are nothing but an attack on the faith itself – it is a severe violation of the trust and commitment that lies at the heart of Islam.
My response as a believer of Islam to this ignominious event is one of anger and disappointment. The burning of the Qur’an is an affront to all believers in its holy message, and such acts must be denounced. More than that, we must consider the consequences of this irreparable desecration.
Firstly, the desecration of the Qur’an has huge implications for our faith. It weakens our trust and belief in its divine message, which is the very essence of our connection to God. Secondly, this act of desecration can lead to a lasting distrust and distance between those of different faiths, and it can even lead to further physical acts of violence and hatred.
Beyond this, it has the potential to stir up feelings of hate and resentment amongst those who are already vulnerable to extremism and radicalization. We should be mindful of these dangers and accept our individual responsibility in the face of such blatant acts of disrespect and hatred.
To counter this heinous act of burning the Qur’an, Muslims must stand up and be vocal in their condemnation of such injustices. We must reclaim our faith’s message of peace, mercy, and love, and work together to ensure that everyone is afforded the respect, forbearance, and love that they deserve.
It is crucial that we work to maintain our communal harmony, as this hatred and intolerance will only lead to further turmoil and disharmony. As believers of Islam, it is our duty to protect the Qur’an from desecration and in order to do this, we must be united in our stance against such disrespectful acts.
Ultimately, it is in our interest and in the interest of humanity to oppose acts of desecration and hatred directed against our sacred faith. We must encourage the love of Allah and His teachings, and rally against those who seek to disrespect His words by burning His noble book. This is a disgrace, and as believers of Islam, it is our duty and responsibility to ensure that His message is kept safe and protected.
